Inside The Bluffs launches new website and blog!

Welcome to the Inside the Bluffs Blog! It is my hope that our community members will use this space to discuss any issues that impact the value of our homes in either a positive or negative way. I have been fortunate to live in this beautiful neighborhood for almost thirty years and I have watched it transition from one of mostly original property owners to another whole new generation of young families. When my two sons were of school age Eastbluff Elementary School was not even open because there were not enough children living here.

Over those thirty years I have watched the Bluffs change but at the same time, to the credit of the many volunteer association board members, it has maintained a unique ambiance and beauty. The common areas and pools are immaculately maintained and every year it ranks near the top of the safest Orange County communities.

Probably the biggest challenge our community faces is the airport expansion and the added noise it will bring to our neighborhood, but there are also many other smaller issues that deserve discussion. Please feel free to share your views and ideas on any aspect of our community. I only ask that we all remember we are neighbors and that we treat one another with respect in this forum even when we are on opposite sides of an issue. If you prefer to remain anonymous feel free to post your ideas, opinions or suggestions using only your initials or a pen name.

Recently a lovely tree was “killed” in my front area which blocked my view of the street, Eastbluff Dr. and gave me some privacy in my upper bedroom. Perhaps it needed to go, but I was never informed, so now I have a patch of dirt. Why could they not let me know beforehand and have a another tree planted there at the same time?

Joan, I understand your concern because a very big part of the unique beauty of The Bluffs is the trees and other landscaping. In the Association where I live they have agreed to mark any tree they are getting ready to remove. Perhaps all The Bluff’s Associations should consider this “heads up” approach to removing trees? That would allow any residents a chance to voice their concerns.
